In the climate of ever increasing concern about how to meet the costs of long term care I continue to be surprised at how few people are aware of NHS Continuing Healthcare Funding.
Whilst its availability is subject to detailed assessment of care needs across a range of areas, I feel families need to be better informed of the assessment process and their ability to request assessment, and indeed reassessment, as needs change over time.
The NHS website is a good place to start to gather some information. We can advise on challenging assessments, when appropriate.
NHS continuing healthcare, also known as "fully funded NHS care", is free care outside of hospital that is arranged and funded by the NHS. This means that you will receive care and support to meet your assessed needs at no cost to you.
